So, what is Transition South Barwon?
‘Transition’ is a worldwide movement where a grassroots community comes together to explore ways that the region can transition to a truly sustainable, resilient and happier future for everyone.
Our aims are to have projects in areas of food, transport, energy, education, housing, waste, arts, etc. as small-scale local responses to the global challenges of climate change, economic hardship and shrinking supplies of cheap energy.
Transition is a positive, solutions-focused way of engaging the issues, and helping to move South Barwon towards a post-oil world that is actually preferable to the present.
We are a group setup to initiate positive action. “Really, it’s the opposite of us sitting in our armchairs complaining about what’s wrong”
We have members from all over the 3216 postcode (and beyond), and we welcome any involvement or contribution. Our group is not associated with any political, religious or business organizations.
For a more in-depth look at what ‘Transition’ is, and the thinking that drives it, please see the Global Transition Network.
